Offered a Victorian Government Energy Saver Device (Scam call) reported by


I took a call and they offered a Victorian Government Energy Saving device free of charge with delivery and installation the next day. As I know this service is on offer in Victoria, I agreed to go ahead and gave my full name and address and contact details. No technician or delivery of product, I tried to call and could not get through, so I can only assume I am going to be spammed a lot more going forward.

As I said, I asked once nicely, and response from Indian/sri-lankan decent male responded with thank you for being so polite to me sir, I asked again abruptly after realising there was a considerable delay in transmission, "who is this exactly?" & "How did you obtain my number and what's the reason for your call at 8pm !! " He hung up before I finished asking a second time. This is happening way too often considering I take 5 personal calls a week on AVG these **** call me 5 times a day some days....... Australia's cyber security and our personal security is not that impressive to say the least....

Their (the governments) main objective is to track us on our devices and invade our privacy any way they can, so they can control us. If they fixed the privacy and cyber security issues, they themselves have less control over us.
