Red Cross Blood Donations, Removes about half a litre of blood (phlebotomy) which is then used for transfusions, the collection of important therapeutic parts of whole blood and plasma. There may be other things too., I've given more than 50 donatons, for most people, it's a quiet 45mins every six weeks or so, but it does a lot of good.
