If someone tells you that energy rates in your area have changed. Thank them and tell them you will do your own research and then hang up. Contact your energy provider and tell them you have been offered a better tariff. Often the default tariff for a house is not the best deal available. You should do this for each new house you move into. Switch wise.com seems to be a legit energy comparison website. There may be others you can find if you don't want to trust the opinion of an Internet stranger (me). This is the same for door to door energy retail providers. Tell them to come back once you've done your own research. They will be in the area for the full working day and get paid commission so they will come back if you ask them to (if it's on the same day).

They called me about my electricity bill and they said that I was paying high bills and they can get me 40% discount from other company and now they keep calling me with different number every time it's annoying can we make this type of harassment illegal now?
