when you receive a call asking for personal details, immediately say you are very busy ask for THEIR web address, phone number name and location, listen to them pause and stumble, as this is not on their question sheet, then wish them a goodday and hang up, Cheers it works

person who rings does not answer, after a time delay, says goodbye, suggest you dont hang up, put phone into a drawer or similar leave them on the line for a few hours they cannot ring out and they will rack up a big bill ,serve them right.

from my understanding, this is just a war dial-er (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/War_dialing) All it is is a call center dialing random numbers (not in the DO NOT CALL LIST) and compiling a list of valid answered numbers for them to send to their people to bombard you with phone SPAM. This saves them for wasting countless hours having staff waiting for 20+ rings for a phone to ring out etc
