Received a phone call from someone who claimed to be from the 'Australian Information Network", who spoke English as their first language - did not really ask for personal information, but stated I may be eligible for a tax cut etc. I Googled the number, and it came up as belonging to this firm. I am anticipating they will call back with an offer of financial services. The ATO confirms they did not try to make contact.

Attempted to start some spiel for financial services. As soon as they asked if I was under 65 I hung up. I blocked the number. The next day I received a notification on my phone a blocked number had called, it was them trying again.

If you answer your phone, don't say anything as they are trying to sell you something if you are unemployed and say that it would benefit you in the long run, background noise is a Call Centre with a lot of other people talking so it probably won't be Ashley calling but somebody else. I answered my phone but didn't say anything and they stayed on the line for 10 mins 26 secs until they finally hung up. That's the best thing to do so they get charged and not you. Thank you.
