I recieved a call asking for donations to a small victorian charity, i searched the charity by abn, phone number and called the director from a # on a govt site. All legit charity. Outsourced their cold calling to DTS who use this number. Made a donation, but also cleared my account of all extra funds. Their cause is worthwhile so im sad to see them on this page, as annoying.

Sounded like real person at first but then realised it was recorded voice designed to respond to what you say with prepared scripts. Ask a question outside the usual conversation and it gets confused and cuts off.

they pretend to be from a charity asking for a quick survey. Its really to confirm your contact detail so they can pass it on. Next day you will be bombarded with calls asking for donations over the phone.

Called and gave a sob story, tried to butter me up by saying I had the same name as his wife. Then only gave options to support the charity once off $75 or more. When I said I couldn't afford that he put on the hard sell and tried to get me to give more because "it was his birthday and once he met his quota he could go home to his wife and new baby". All seemed to convenient and made me suspicious so I hung up.
