Had already tried to get through to me on similar number (03 7067 5107) about 1/2 hr prior. They had my name and when I asked who it was he went into sales pitch so I hung up. I blocked that number so they couldn't call back but clearly they're not giving up!

They rang me on my work issued phone, person gave me their centrelink staff ID and said I owed centrelink money as I had not pro idea my tax number. I know they are not from Centrelink what so ever as I was at work and my system did not find them. They also did not know my first name, staff will always ask for you by first name and will send an sms up to 1 hour before they call. I know all this because I work for Centrelink and we have a system that finds every employee across all of Services Australia. Do not fall for this type of scam, centrelink will issue a letter for this type of thing. Debts that are paused during lockdowns and such, are on pause until 10.01.2022 when letters will be issued advising of payments due July 2022.
