Telstra calling to help fix my internet problem. (Scam call) reported by


I received a call from “Telstra” telling me Someone has hacked into my computer and that she would help me fix the problem, but I needed to go onto the computer whilst talking to her. I was advised that I would see the Telstra logo as I followed her instructions. I said my computer was temporarily unavailable and could i call her back. She gave me the number 0391075000. She then wanted to confirm who she was speaking to and she said my maiden name which did belong to my phone over 12 years ago. The number actually belongs now to my company with my married name and has been for the last 10 years. I do not trust them . They obviously have old Telstra phone number records.

Claimed to be Telstra calling and that on authority of Victoria Police I MUST follow his instructions. The claim was that a hacker was using my IP adrs. On query of his identity he offered Tel number 03 9107500 and Telstra ID: D606858

Phone call from Abigail (Scam call) reported by


Phone call from "Abigail"from Telstra Technical dept saying our 'system"is being hacked and I need to follow her instructions in order to sort the problem. I asked for a number to phone and back as was 100% convinved it was a scam and even stated so to Abigail who seemed to know exactly who I was. Was given the number 03 91075000 and when I rang this number there was a recorded message supposedly from Telstra. I then phoned our local Telstra shop and was told that Abigail is indeed a SCAM! I would like to say what I think of these people but this site clearly states not to use dirty words or statements!!!
