They call your registered telstra number, and ask you to press 1. This allows them to access your record. Doesn't work if you call back from a different number (which I did as a precaution). If you enter your number, then you go to Bills. I checked my app at the same time, and had missed a bill. Legit caller.

Called me twice during the day, calls which I missed. The first call they left no message, the second call they did leave a message although it was only 1 second long and sounded like a voice being cut off. Then they called me again, this time I picked up thinking that it might be something important if they were this persistent. Picked up only to hear a robotic voice claiming to be Telstra and insisting it was not a scam call, then asked me to confirm my identity as the holder of my phone account and to press a number on the keypad to do so. It did it again, although this time with the option of if I was someone who could speak for the account holder. After that it asked for my date of birth, which I then grew super suspicious (I was already suspicious) and googled the number. In the time it took me to enter the number and look through some results, it automatically ended the call. I’ve now blocked this number.

Several calls saying it's Telstra, not a telemarketing call, say it's for my name and to press one, then if it is you press one again etc. I hung up and have since had two calls from NZ and one from Myanmar which can only be scam calls!
