Got this message left for this number. Just pay these bad guys back by wasting their time and calling them many times on a private line to peev them off.

Block it. Pure scam, "This call is from the Australian Taxation Office..." No, it isn't. People can be a robocaller or a live person behind it, this kind of scam mostly originates from USA, where this type of scam (someone calling on behalf of IRS - Internal Revenue Service, similar to ATO - Australian Taxation Office, https://www.ato.gov.au/) is very common. Block it, report it - police department is already checking this activity. Also, all ATO numbers begin with 13.

I too have just received a call claiming to be from the IRS with a criminal case against me for tax evasion and tax fraud. I am suppose to ring this number back who are part of the Commonwealth Region IQ Headquarters.The caller had an American accent.

Just listened to a message on my answering machine from these scammers...sounded like a bad irish/American leprechaun!!! So sad that they actually dupe some elderly people...will report to Scamwatch.
