Whenever I pick up a call from a number not on my contact list, I won't say anything and wait for them to talk first. If there is a pause, e.g. if they don't say anything immediately when you pick up, you would know it's a telemarketer using overseas call centres as it takes a few seconds to connect to them when you pick up. When this happens, I just save the number under "Do Not Answer" :-)

Persistent caller. When I finally answered and told them I was not interested, the caller was rude and aggressive - telling me to "calm down, calm down". when I called back to complain about the caller's phone manner, I was put through to the same person - and he wouldn't put me through to a manager or listen to my complain.
