Wanted to know if I'd had an accident in last 12 months. Male with northern (english accent). Lots of background noise like a call centre. However, when legit call centres call I never hear any background noise. When I said no, he apologised for bothering me and said he'd take my name of database. Like to know how he got my name cos he called my work mobile no. However, yesterday my OH took a call at our home, knew his name too and that no is a silent no. My OH wasn't as polite.

I too have been told I was in a car accident in the last 12 months. I have never been in a car accident, and I don't even drive. I was told my name would be removed from the database, however I still receive a few calls from this number almost every week day. I have since blocked the number from calling me on my mobile.

This number calls at least twice a week, haven't answered most of them, but when I do, whoever is on the other end makes a noise similar to flatulence then hangs up.

I have had this call infrequently over the past few years. never a soul on the line but utter silence like the line has not been connected to a department and there is hold music. Annoying as heck and it is listed on the web in countless places as spam. I I still get a rejected call memo but at least my phone does not ring and annoy me any more.

A Scottish accented man claiming to be an insurance company asking why I haven't made a personal injury claim from my accident. I asked him which one of the 3 he was referring to. He then stated I can't disclose that because of the privacy law, but probably the last accident. I went along with him before I got bored then asked him why he's ringing me when I've never ever had an accident.....he then accused me of trying to commit fraud by playing his game lol duh ????????????

If you can block this number-they sre scam artists. They will persist if you don't block. Go into your call settings and then block list to add their number. Tedious yes- worth the trouble to avoid these people -yes.

I had a call I missed from this number and it said 08 7070 6172. I tried to call back and it was busy busy busy. I'll put it down to scammers using a VOIP phone. Oddly I had a call about a year ago about an accident that involved a car I hadn't owned for two years that was no longer registered, and hadn't been for over a year. Seems it was involved in a mysterious accident, in this car, only 6 months earlier. I never even confirm my name unless I know who is calling me and I know who they are.
