Car accident (Scam call) reported by


I had a call I missed from this number and it said 08 7070 6172. I tried to call back and it was busy busy busy. I'll put it down to scammers using a VOIP phone. Oddly I had a call about a year ago about an accident that involved a car I hadn't owned for two years that was no longer registered, and hadn't been for over a year. Seems it was involved in a mysterious accident, in this car, only 6 months earlier. I never even confirm my name unless I know who is calling me and I know who they are.

They call you claiming to be from 'First Response' in regards to a car accident you've had in the last 12 months hoping to get a 'hit'. If you have in fact had a car accident, they will try to scam you with placing some sort of insurance claim. If you have not had an accident and say no, they're really quick to hang up.

The girl just called me too today 9.5.17 at 3:50pm, asked for a Mr or Mrs (im neither) and couldn't pronounce my last name, oh and it was my work mobile. Told them they are nothing but scammers, never to call me again and especially on my work phone, she hung up.
