Workplace getting inundated with phone calls from Indian call centre stating they're from accident investigation dept of common law regarding an accident. 30+ calls in an hour. Majority of time they will hang up when you question them, calls from an unknown number. Tried to get them to remove our number - They gave me 02 8005 0066 as their contact number. This rings then disconnects.

Similar call to the others mentioned. This bloke (with accent like Indian) asked if i had been in accident 2 yrs ago in Townsville. I asked for more info like the driver name, the car rego, the date, was there another party to the accident, all he would say was that he was calling from Australian Claims Authority,he gave a contact phone number as 02 8005 0034 but said the HO of Australian Claims Authority was in Brisbane. When i persisted for more info he hung up. When i asked where he got my phone number from he declined to give an answer. Idiot scammer.

Indian accented woman rang my work landline. Queried if Id been in an accident in the last two years. Said she was from Common Law Claims in Sydney. Her name is Lauren Maxwell. I said she had rung a government agency and how on earth did she get this number. She said from the Road Safety Council. I accused her of being a scammer she got very upset and hung up. I won haha

Just had the exact same phone call from the same person. She was rude, aggressive and refused to provide her supervisors numbers. I haven't had an accident or claim of any sort. Complete scam and when I said this was a scam she fired up. Heavy indian accent - should be ashamed of herself.

Indian accented male. Advised that he was calling on behalf of Common Law Claims regarding an accident I was in. I asked for more details and he repeated the same. I asked for the company name again and number - he gave 02 80050036 and I said if it was not correct I would advise the police. Calling the number I got "number does not exist" notice. I had heard of this scam before. He was very insistent about the fact that "I" had been in an accident without giving any details but was extremely threatening. Terrible scam call, would terrify many vulnerable people. Will see if I can report to the police.

Scam call. Very persistent. Asked for a name, number to call back and also an address and name of the firm they worked for. Dodgy address and there is no firm called 'Common Law Claims' - only gave '20 MLC' near Martin Place. Very strong Indian accent - called himself Alex W. Will try the 'do not ring' or I call call the police if they continue to harrass us.

These turkeys are here to scam - 12 calls in 30 mins due to the commander system. Strong Indian accents - claiming to be Common Law Claims from Sydney. Jenny, Lisa, David to name a few. Keep asking to get details of anybody that's been in a car accident - 02 8005 0030 is what they were tinging on. Told them was going to call the police for harassment. They changed their tune when I asked on who's authority they act. Was given a number to ring back which believe it or not somebody answered. David the Supervisor on 02 8005 0034. Politely told him to put my number on the "do not ring" list or Police will be called. Oddly enough it stopped :)

One of many Indian call centres claiming someone in the household had an accident recently. I seriously don't know how they expect to get anyone, probably just by chance that they've had an accident. As others mentioned, they claim to be Common Law Claims, at Unit 20 MLC Centre Sydney and referred by Australian Claims Authority. We went along with it until we got their alleged details (which they usually refuse to give, or hang up when asked) and once we'd had enough told them they'd be reported to the police. I'd also recommend reporting them to ACA, as they're providing false information while posing as a partner company.

Lisa rang and asked if I or anyone else had been in a car accident in the last 2 years. When I asked she said a company called Australian Claims Authority said we were and in order to seek compensation we needed to provide details of the accident eg. name etc. She said the party who gave my phone number was the not at fault party and because of privacy reasons was not able to give me their name. Other information was not also available about the not at fault party because of privacy reasons. I told her that for privacy reasons I also was not going to give her information. She could be King Kong as far as I know, I said. I told her I do not give my information to a stranger on the phone. I hung up then.

Received a call today from guy with a strong Indian accent from Common Law Claims, Sydney. He asked if someone in household was in an accident almost 3 years ago. I asked how he obtained information, he advised that a database is kept of everyone injured in an accident in Australia and they have a collaboration with the Road Safety Council and they receive the information. He advised he was trying to help me. Advised him that my privacy had been breached and I would report him. I ended the call. I am concerned where the information came from as it will soon be 3 years since my accident injury. How did they get my landline phone number?

They call my business a few times a week and have for years. They are not legit, it's just a coincidence that your accident was in the same timeframe, they don't even have your name. They ring everyone saying the same thing.

Attempted scam. Indian male calling from "Accident Claims Australia". I responded immediately telling him that one of his family members was just involved in an accident and he should call home soon. He responded "This is not a funny call sir". After some more bs he then said is this Mr Smith? (oh surely you could do better than that). My response "No this is Mr Singh". "Sorry, wrong number.. and hangs up". It appears these con artists operate from an overseas call centre type set up and use an app that fools our exchange to appear as a local call (0280050066). Next time I will just ask them to hold for a second and then just hang up after making them wait.

very heavy indian accent male said he was from a sydney law firm calling with regard to an accident at our business premises. in the background you could hear a busy call centre. I told him he was totally incorrect and again asked him who he was and which law firm he worked for and he hung up. tried to call number that came up on screen only to hear recorded message that this number does not exist please check before calling

Had a call from them ages ago & played along. When I "confirmed" I'd had an accident which resulted in me losing my job as a casual, he got VERY excited & passed me on to his supervisor. He wanted my car's rego number which I told him I couldn't remember & hubby had the car. They kept ringing me over the next few days wanting details. I eventually told them I was tired of playing games & to F**K OFF & get a real job! It felt good to make them think I was sucked in! :)

They've been calling my work for years, a girl named Jessica and a guy named Corbon (if anyone believes that much), I tell them to bugger off usually but today I played along for fun and said it was me who was in an accident, I also got passed onto the 'supervisor. I gave them my the rejection hotline number for my mobile I told them I didn't have the details with me because I am at work, they asked what injury I suffered from and I told them I died. The girl got miffed then and said that she was trying to be serious that obviously she wasn't speaking to a ghost. I got pretend offended and said that people could come back from the dead. She again tried to steer me towards my injury. I got on my pretend high horse and started screaming that Jesus came back from the dead and doesn't she believe in our lord and saviour? ;) She got more annoyed ans said have you had an injury? I said well you guys keep ringin me and telling me that someone here had an injury so I guess I did. She said 'no we dont' and I said 'yes, you do and this is a business so stop effing calling'. They say they are at Level 20 martin place sydney and the phone number is 0280050034 or 0280050066. The calls come from 2 people with thick Indian accents and it seems like they are a call from overseas with a crap connection and that clicky thing at the start which is extra annoying because my business is export so I have to be nice to them until they reveal what they are calling about each time. Often they call back within an hour or so of each other.

Just had a call from this number. Female - With strong Indian accent. She asked if I had been in an accident in the past two years and if it wasn't me was it someone else in my family. I asked her name and what company she represented to which she replied she was from a law firm that down with common-law claims and was based in Sydney. I suggested to her that this was a scam to which she replied no but wanted my postal address and date of birth to confirm who I was. I told her that I would be passing this phone number on to the police for them to investigate. Definitely a scam.

I to received a call from a person from the same number called J. O'C.. Prior to him speaking I heard a sound which was a computer dialing a number. When he answered, he said, he had documents regarding my accident. He spoke very clearly with a slight American accent. While he was speaking, I asked him "what accident and what documents"? He didn't address me by name or identify the business he was representing which immediately raised my suspicion to the call being a scam. He then hung up.

A guy by the name of Sam Johnson) with an Indian accent (as if that would be his real name) claiming to be from "Common Law Claims - Accident Investigation Department" called asking if anyone in the household had had an accident in the last 2 years. He couldn't provide a name of person he was after, so I took his details and said no there wasn't anyone here that he was looking for. I can't find the company on the net and smell a scam coming on.

This number comes from Sydney, I don't answer unknown numbers and they left no message. Have missed calls from them on my mobile, was trying to dig some info on the internet before calling them back, but found nothing, no luck. People pls did someone answer this number, who is it?

i have just had a call from this number with the caller identifying himself as Peter Wilson and asking about an accident I was supposedly had within the last 2 years. When asked for details he would not give any and said he got my number from the motor registry department. I asked for his company details and he said he was from Common Law Claims based in Sydney. A web search was unsuccessful in finding this company.

I answered today after multiple missed calls too-Sam from Coleman Law-same story. Someone in my household involved in accident in past 2 years with pending personal injury claim. Foreign accent and difficult to understand.
