I answered and the standard voice that usually says things like "the number you have called in unavailable" said, "optus advises that the number you have called in incorrect. optus advises that the number you have called is incorrect. o u o 2 u 1" I hadn't made any calls for a week.

I finally answered and it was a customer loyalty call from Optus, upgrading me into a newer mobile for no extra fees a couple of months earlier than my plan finishes, clever of them, but I'm happy so all good

This number seems to be used by some call centre - I can see very similar numbers reported, all the same range just with last digits different, which is a common thing - they use a range of similar numbers. They are reported with different scope, but mostly as a call centre working for Optus Telemarketing. I tried to call the number back but no luck, number not in service - probably one-way gateway of the call centre not allowing inbound calls so you are not able to call them back. People did someone answer it, can you confirm?
